NextStep (the “App”) is developed and operated by SolutionsIO (“we”, “us”, or “our”). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, and your choices regarding that information.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly to the App and information collected automatically when you use the App.

Information you provide

• Account information (optional): name or nickname, and email address if you choose to create an account or contact support.
• Goals & progress data: goals, milestones, task lists, progress updates, notes, reminders, and any media you attach to your items.
• Support requests: messages you send to customer support.

Information collected automatically

• Usage data: interaction events (e.g., goal creation, milestone completion), session length, and crash logs.
• Device information: device model, operating system and version, language, and unique device identifiers.
• Analytics data: aggregated metrics from third-party analytics tools we use to improve the App.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and operate the App’s features (tracking goals, milestones, syncing across devices).
• Personalize your experience and remember your preferences.
• Perform analytics and improve app performance and stability.
• Respond to your support requests and communicate important notices if you opt in.
• Prevent abuse and enforce our Terms of Service.

3. Legal Bases for Processing (where required)

If you are located in jurisdictions that require us to identify a legal basis for processing personal data (for example, the European Economic Area), we rely on one or more of the following grounds:

• Performance of a contract (providing the App’s core features).
• Your consent (for optional features, marketing, or analytics where required).
• Legitimate interests (improving and securing the App), balanced against your rights and freedoms.

4. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with the following categories of service providers:

• Analytics providers: to understand usage patterns and improve the App.
• Cloud and backup providers: if you enable cloud sync (e.g., Apple iCloud, Google Cloud).
• Crash reporting & performance tools: to diagnose and fix technical issues.

These third parties are contractually obligated to handle data in accordance with applicable laws. We encourage you to review their privacy terms before using connected features.

5. Data Storage & Security

We implement reasonable administrative, physical, and technical safeguards designed to protect the information we collect. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. By using the App you acknowledge and accept this residual risk.

If you enable cloud sync (for example using iCloud or Google Backup), your data will also be subject to the storage provider’s security practices and terms.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide the App and fulfill the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete or anonymize your data in accordance with our deletion procedures. Note that backups may remain for a limited time before being permanently removed.

7. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction or deletion of your data.
• Export your data in a machine-readable format.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

8. Children’s Privacy

NextStep is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe we have collected personal information of a child under 13, please contact us and we will take steps to delete such information.

9. International Transfers

SolutionsIO is based in the United States. If you are located outside the United States, your information may be transferred to — and processed in — the United States and other countries. We will take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place when transferring personal data in accordance with applicable law.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated policy in the App and update the Effective date at the top. Continued use of the App after changes indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
